3 Levels of Paint Protection Film, One Honest Recommendation
Here is what each level covers and who it is for. Pricing depends on the vehicle and the panels, so we quote after we see it, not before.

Partial Front
Entry coverageFront bumper, partial hood, partial fenders, mirrors
- Covers the panels that take the most highway impact
- The lowest-cost way to stop rock chips on a new car
- Edges wrapped where the film can be tucked out of sight
Best for: Leased, commuter, or short-term ownership

Full Front
Most commonFull bumper, full hood, full fenders, mirrors, headlights
- No cut line across the hood, so nothing shows at a glance
- Headlights protected against sandblasting and hazing
- Usually everything a daily-driven vehicle actually needs
Best for: Most vehicles kept three years or longer

Full Body
Maximum coverageEvery painted panel, front to back
- Protects rockers, door edges, and rear arches from road spray
- Self-healing film across the whole car, not just the nose
- The right call when resale value or a rare paint code is on the line
Best for: New builds, exotics, and long-term keepers
What sets us apart
Most owners get sold the biggest package, not the right one
A few thousand valley miles chip a nose and sandblast a bumper, and repainting a hood costs more than protecting it would have. Then every quote that comes back is full body, with no one asking how you use the vehicle.
“Not every vehicle needs the same level of protection. We’ll look at how you use your vehicle, how long you plan to keep it, and what you’re looking to protect before recommending a solution. Sometimes that’s full body. Sometimes a full front does everything you actually need it to do.”

Who we are
A veteran and family owned shop in McAllen
Built on the work, not a franchise playbook
Military service, oil field shifts, washing vehicles on days off, then a garage, then three locations across the valley. Blue-collar origin, high-end standards on every install.
Same respect for every vehicle
A lifted Sierra gets the same walkthrough and the same install standard as a Huracán. No tiered attention based on what the vehicle is worth.
Film chosen for the valley, not the brochure
XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS gloss and STEALTH satin film hold up to South Texas sun, sand, and highway debris, and self-heal light swirls with heat.

FAQ
Straight answers before you book
Still have a question about your vehicle? Call the shop and we will walk it through with you.
What does paint protection film actually stop?+
It stops rock chips, road debris, sand, bug acid, bird droppings, and the light scratches and swirls that show up from washing. XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS is self-healing, so fine scratches disappear with heat. What it will not do is stop a door ding, a shopping cart, or a collision. We would rather you hear that from us now than find out after install.
Do I need full body, or is full front enough?+
That depends on how you drive and how long you are keeping the vehicle. Highway miles on Expressway 83 punish the nose of a car, which is why full front handles it for most owners. Full body makes sense on a new build, an exotic, or a vehicle you plan to keep and resell. We will tell you which one fits before we quote you.
How long will you have my vehicle?+
It depends on the coverage and the vehicle. Partial and full front are short jobs; full body takes longer because every panel is fit and cured individually. We give you a specific timeframe during your consultation instead of a guess over the phone.
Which film do you install?+
XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS, a self-healing gloss film that resists yellowing and hazing. For matte and satin paint we install XPEL STEALTH, which protects the finish without turning it glossy. We are an authorized Sun Stoppers location and our installers are trained on both.
Is the film visible once it is on?+
It is designed to disappear. Where the panel allows it, we wrap edges so there is no visible line at the hood or fender. On some panels a relief cut is required, and we will show you exactly where it lands before we start.
Can I add ceramic coating on top of the film?+
Yes. The film takes the impact and the coating makes the surface easier to wash and keeps it looking sharp. If you are considering both, we will tell you whether the coating is worth it for how you use the vehicle.
Do you offer a discount for veterans and first responders?+
Yes. Black Diamond RGV is veteran and family owned, and we extend a 10% discount to veterans and first responders as thanks for their service.
